Quo Vadis Aida: V in conversation with writer, director, producer Jasmila Žbanić (September 2021)
Bosnia, July 1995. Aida (great: Jasna Djuričić) is a teacher and works as a translator for the UN in the small town of Srebrenica. When the Serbian army took the city, her family was one of the thousands of people who sought protection in the UN camp. As an interpreter, Aida has access to crucial information during the negotiations. She tries to tell lies and truths apart in order to find out how she could save her family and fellow citizens. The situation comes to a head when her husband, the director of the local school, is supposed to represent Srebrenica in negotiations with the Bosnian Serb general Ratko Mladic.
